A species of exotic snake has been seen on the Regent's Canal.
Aesculapian Snakes, they can grow to two metres in length, and been seen in trees and bushes surrounding the canal area.
Whether they escaped from London Zoo or were someone’s pets who grew too large is not known. They are one of Europe’s longest snakes, can live up to 30 years. Their main diet is rats, so that should give them a plentiful diet in London!
