Christmas tree collections will start from Monday 8 January 2024 and will run throughout the month.
Your tree will be collected on the same day as your rubbish and recycling but by a different vehicle, so this may not be at the same time as other collections.
Trees should be left out after 6.30pm on the day before the collection is due, and by 6.30am on the collection day.
Where to leave your tree:
If you have a front garden - put your tree out for collection next to your rubbish and recycling bags, on your usual collection day - not on the street.
If you do not have a front garden - put your tree just outside your front door on the pavement taking care not to block where people walk.
If you live in a block of flats - leave your tree near to your rubbish or recycling bin store, making sure you do not block access to the bins.
Trees are sent for composting, so we will not collect your tree if it is:
- Plastic/not real
- Still decorated
- In soil or a pot/stand
- Over 6ft (please cut into smaller pieces)
Christmas tree drop off points:
To make it easier to dispose of your real Christmas tree, as well as leaving it out for collection, you can take it to one of the following drop-off points until Wednesday 31 January 2024. Remove any decorations or pots first.
The drop-off points are:
- Tooting Common, Dr Johnson Car Park, SW17 8JU
- Battersea Park, Albert Bridge Car Park, Albert Bridge Road, SW11 4NU
- Battersea Park, Chelsea Gate, Carriage Drive North, SW11 4NJ
Take it to Smugglers Way
You can also take your tree to Smugglers Way reuse and recycling centre. Remember you must book a slot to visit Smugglers Way.
