Allan's July Market Update

Somehow summer, Wimbledon and rain go together, but regardless of rain, which after all our gardens do need, the focus the Championships puts on South West London is a reminder of what a wonderful part of London we live in, the combined area  of Wimbledon Common, Putney Heath and Putney Common as well as Richmond Park is a staggering 3,640 Acres.

Here in Putney, we have the added delight of being on the banks of the river Thames, with its constant bustle of river traffic. Last weekend I had the enormous pleasure of attending the Henley Royal Regatta, somewhat up-river, but still a reminder of Putney with several of the rowing clubs based here competing.
Thames Rowing Club in particular had considerable success, particularly the women crews. The club  was formed in 1860, although woman had to wait until 1973 for them to be admitted, they have made up for it since. If you have an interest in rowing take a look at their website,
