In what year did London reach the population of a million?

A. 1753
B. 1811
C. 1901

Answer:
B - 1811

London reached a population of one million in 1811.  It had a population of 8,174,000 at the 2011 census. 

Today, there are over 300 cities in the world that boast a population in excess of 1 million.
