Lettings Manager, Cathy Sinnott, comments on Market Conditions

Published: 06/10/2021 By Allan Fuller

Demand for properties to rent locally and in London in general has hit an all-time peak. This has reduced stock levels across the board to a very low level. As with any commodity, supply and demand creates the price of the product. So it is with property, and we have seen rents rising.

Set against this though, is the fact that average rents had decreased towards the latter part of 2020 and at the beginning of this year. Recently, they have been going back to their previous levels.

The great advantages that we have here in Putney, are the  fantastic public transport connections, which have always made living here immensely popular. With a trend of people who moved out of London now returning to their  workplace, and the importance of transport facilities highlighted now by the petrol crisis it has certainly shown that living here has many benefits. It will be interesting to see what the end of the Furlough Scheme will mean for jobs, maybe those that have to find a new career will think of retraining as HGV drivers?

If you are thinking of renting out a property, now has never been more of the time and Cathy would love to hear from you, in 2021. Up to the end of September we are the Putney Agent that has let more properties than any other company based here (information from www.rightmove.co.uk).
