Expansion of ULEZ

Published: 06/08/2021 By Allan Fuller

London’s new Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will be expanded out to the North and South Circular from the 25th of October this year meaning drivers of older cars will have to pay a £12.50 daily charge across an area of inner London within, but not including, the north and south Circular roads. The ULEZ will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year except Christmas Day (25 December).

You can check to see if your vehicle will meet the standards or not at; Use this tool to find out if your vehicle meets the emissions standard and the charges you need to pay. Four out of five cars already meet the ULEZ emissions standards, but TFL need owners of older polluting cars, motorcycles, lighter vans and minibuses to take action.

The cost of entering the Congestion Charging zone will remain, so that will be an additional cost if you vehicle is liable for the ULEZ charge.
